NEWS PAPER HEADLINES ACROSS THE COUNTRY

FAIR STRIKES GOLD - The New Seekers did "real well," Marble related, and the CHICAGO KNOCKERS helped "triple our Thursday attendence from last year," to 17,370. A single-day record was set Friday, Children's Day, when "43,000 plus" passed through the gates.

MUD WRESTLING DEBUTS AT FAIR - A Crowd of nearly 3,900 filled the grandstand and track area, according to Fair Board member Clarence Flesbeck, who is in charge of grandstand events, to see the women tangle in a sticky, black mud filled ring. More than 400 of that audience paid $5, the highest price ever charged for a grandstand event, for the privilege of ringside seats.

GOOEY SPORT GRIPS CAPACITY CROWD - Approximately 20 of the 1500 spectators present were asked what they had thought of Martin County's first visit from female mud wrestlers. Each and every one said they had enjoyed the show immensely and hoped they had the opportunity the opportunity to see the CHICAGO KNOCKERS a second time.

HERE'S MUD IN YOUR EYE - ..and the crowd of 5000 people who paid $3 a head to watch the wrestling under the festival tent, went NUTS! What is it about mud? Well, it didn't take long for me to find out. For the sake of the public's right to know about this newest wrinkle in spectator sports, I joined the tag team with WNYR radio announcer Tim Kineaid (dressed as his on air alter ego, Granny) and took on Leather & Lace and Sassy Sandy.

FEMALE MUD WRESTLING SHOW "CLEANS UP" AT FAIR - A standing room only crowd of more than 2000 gathered an hour before the county fair event was to begin. The long media blitz was over. The hype was done. It was time for the athletic contest to begin. Forget the Super Bowl; forget the State Of The Union - in Manatee County Thursday night, all eyes were on the mud and eight ladies dunked within.

ALL'S FAIR IN HOLMES COUNTY - The weather was beautiful, the food was great and the entertainment was dirty. Opening day at the Holmes County Fair drew more than 10,000 people, said Fair secretary Verle Spreng. The attendance can be particularly attributed to the evening entertainment - THE CHICAGO KNOCKERS.

FAIR STRIKES PAYDIRT - The Rockingham County Fair struck paydirt Friday night. It was black and gooey, and stuck to the skin of lighty clad young women. THE CHICAGO KNOCKERS All Girl Mud Wrestling Team drew the largest crowd ever for a grandstand show at the Fair. 4000 packed in the grandstand area to watch the mud-slinging women. That topped the old record by more than 1000, said Fair officals.

100,000 ATTEND RIVERBOAT DAYS - ...Festivities concluded with a bang Monday, as an estimated 7,000 people filled Riverview Stadium and a portion of its playing field, to watch THE CHICAGO KNOCKERS All Girl Mud Wrestling Team battle themselves and local KROS disc Jockey Gary Determen.
